PERSONAL NARRATIVES

As public interest in autism has increased and as individuals with autism have been introduced to more sophisticated communication tools, publications and films written by individuals with autism have become increasingly more common.

Although the experiences of individuals with autism are incredibly varied, personal narratives provide compelling and personalized knowledge of what it is like to live with autism.

The following books and films (alphabetized by lead author's last name) provide first-hand accounts of and personal insights into the experience of living with an autism spectrum disorder.
